ColdFusion 8 beta plug-ins for Eclipse

Hopefully this info will help you avoid any confusion if you are new to using CFEclipse and checking out the new features of ColdFusion 8. My personal split second confusion was based on my expectation of the ColdFusion 8 beta plug-ins for Eclipse and what I actually found with the CF8 Syntax Dictionaries for CFEclipse. If you get stumped for a second while trying to fit all of the pieces of the puzzle together .... don't feel bad. Searching the blogs I found out that I was not the only person with a false expectation and red lines blazing through the new CF8 tagged code in Eclipse.

So here is the deal ... basically the ColdFusion 8 beta plug-ins for Eclipse add the functionality of the Wizards that work very nicely with Adobe Flex Builder. The CF8 Syntax Dictionaries on the other hand provide the support in CFEclipse for the new tags you will discover while working in ColdFusion 8. It is as easy as that .....

If you are working with a Flex Builder stand alone install, I would highly recommend that you re-install the latest version of Eclipse and re-install Flex Builder as a plug-in for Eclipse. Quite a few developers recommended that I do this early on ... and it probably would have saved me some precious minutes. Thanks Mark Drew for passing along the goodies ....
