Adobe Flex 3 Cairngorm Training

If you’re working with Adobe Flex for enterprise level RIAs or with large multi-disciplined development teams, you’ll really begin to realize the benefits of using some type of infrastructure or framework. Cairngorm is one such framework that is now part of the Adobe recommended practice with Flex. Many of the recurring problems that you find developing enterprise applications with J2EE, are relevant to the Flex software development cycle. Design patterns present solutions to recurring problems and many of challenges solved by the “Core J2EE Patterns” are relevant to RIA development. Cairngorm is a microarchitecture that applies best-practices and lessons learned from the earlier days of enterprise web application develpment to RIA design and development with Adobe Flex.

Or to quote the Adobe Labs Wiki:

“The Cairngorm Microarchitecture is a lightweight yet prescriptive framework for rich Internet application (RIA) development. Cairngorm is an implementation of design patterns that the consultants at Adobe Consulting have successfully taken from enterprise software development (with technologies including J2EE and .NET) and applied rich Internet application development using Adobe Flex.”
