Complete Flex-Java CRUD Applications in Minutes

Twitter has been blasting me lately with great links, resources, and new information about all of my favorite software solutions. I received a link just a few days ago and it seems that Yakov and the team at FarataSystems have been very busy building some really nice tools for the Java Programmer that would like to work with Adobe® Flex as a front end. Clear Data Builder Plugin for Eclipse automates Flex-Java development with LCDS or BlazeDS: whether you are a Java Pro or have never coded in Java before, Clear Data Builder will let you create a complete Flex-Java CRUD applications in minutes. If you don’t have direct access to  DBMS objects, just supply a Java DTO and Flex front end  will be automatically generated. If you can use SQL, provide Java method declarations annotated with SQL statements, and leave the rest to Clear Data Builder. No need to write and debug Java code, no need to create O/R mappings. Clear Data Builder creates all Java code, then compiles, builds and hot deploys Java JARs. It also creates all required Flex code. Next thing you see, your CRUD application running in your Web browser.
For legacy Java applications Clear Data Builder generates wrapper classes plus ActionScript Transfer Objects matching their Java peers.  Note, that now you can control complex database transactions including SQL updates to multiple tables and stored procedures calls entirely from ActionScript!
